Buying a Golf Trolley

An article from Golf Trolleys
If you're walking the golf course and carrying a golf bag plus all the golf clubs you need, as well as golf balls and essential extras like a bottle of water, you'll be using a great deal of energy that is then not available for your game. Using a trolley helps conserve some of that energy, leaving you more energy and helping you concentrate on your game.

Choosing the correct trolley (cart) is essential. Here are some points to think about before you buy.

The first choice to make is between an electric trolley and a pull/push trolley. If your budget is limited then this decision may be made for you as electric trolleys are much more expensive than pull trolleys.

Electric trolleys make walking the golf course much easier and you need to expend far less energy than with a pull trolley, but they do have some disadvantages. First they are bigger and heavier than pull trolleys so are more difficult to take in and out of your car, also they take more room for storage between games. The batteries on their own are heavy and can be difficult to handle, especially for the older player, and you have to remember to charge them between games. Most batteries will last 18 holes, if you regularly play 36 holes in a day then you will need to buy a battery than can cope with 36 holes.

Make sure the trolley you buy will fit in your car and check out how easy it is to assemble. Fold up trolleys are the easiest to handle, but if you have limited space in your car you may want to buy a trolley that you can take to pieces, removing the wheels will allow it to fit in a much smaller space.

With an electric trolley you are able to take many more items around the course with you as you don't need to be concerned with the extra weight. Electric trolleys also have many accessories you can buy to add to the usability, you can even buy a seat to add to the trolley so you can have a rest if you have to wait at a tee.

Pull trolleys are lighter and easier to handle than electric trolleys but require a certain amount of energy to pull around the golf course. Two wheel trolleys are the lightest and cheapest, but a three wheel trolley will be easier to pull around the course. The latest three wheel push trolleys (carts) are well worth checking out too, you may be surprised at how light one of these can feel and how easy to push.
